Information on Uncle Harold in Schools

NOTICE TO SCHOOL PRINCIPALS

ON "UNCLE HAROLD" THE VENTRILOQUIST AND HIS SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Notice

The purpose of the school program is to provide a service to the school and create an interest in children about "Willy and Uncle Harold".

General Information on School Programs

School programs consist of a fifteen-minute puppet show routine with "Willy Hopsack". This routine is a humourous ventriloquistic presentation between "Uncle Harold and Willy" and will be of great interest to children and youngsters between the ages of five to say ten years of age. Some eleven and twelve year olds enjoy this too. The routine takes a story form and usually ends with a wholesome punch line followed by "Willy" singing a little song in a funny way. The story this year is entitled "Bill's trip for a new piano" (as taken from the writings of Earnest. G. Shepherd). As "Uncle Harold" tries to relate this story in a serious way, "Willy's" little comments and questions keep the children in stitches of laughter making for a hilarious time with a thoughtful good moral. Kids love it, and learn through this humourous routine, the importance of being a "Good Neighbour".

School programs are entirely free as a Community Service to Public Schools upon invitation from school authorities. There is absolutely no cost whatsoever to the schools for these free Puppet Programs.

School programs can be done in Assembly time in gymnasiums or in the classroom.

NOTICE TO PASTORS

On Advertising through School Programs

  • The purpose of all school programs is never to take advantage of the school system, by trying to pull off an Evangelistic Meeting. NO!
  • The purpose of all school programs is to provide a service to the schools and to create an interest in the hearts and minds of children.
  • This interest will cause children to talk among themselves about "Willy" and "Uncle Harold", and will cause them to find out where they can go to hear more "Stories" (your Church). Once children are attending the Children's Meetings in the Church, they will of course be able to hear about "The LORD Jesus" and His Love for them.
